Social Impact Industrial Placement

Job description

Do you want to make an impact on the world around us? We believe Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is fundamental to creating a better tomorrow and we’re searching for someone who feels the same. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the UK&I CSR team with a focus on Social Impact.

The UK&I Social Impact team creates programmes and activities to create powerful social change. Our purpose at Experian is to “Improve Financial Health for All” and in CSR, we deliver this through collaboration with local and national charity partners via a range of CSR programmes.

Employees in the UK & Ireland get three days to volunteer per year, and the culture of volunteering, engaging in our communities and supporting charitable causes are all valued traits of life at Experian. In this role you will be actively working across a variety of programmes led by the Social Impact team – from helping organise events, assisting with communications and working directly with charities to explore opportunities. It will give you the opportunity to meet a wide range of people in Experian and will involve working with senior staff from of our charity partners.

We also work closely with charities to support their charitable objectives. Through the Product Donation Programme (sometimes called Gift in Kind) we donate a selection of Experian’s products and services to charities and non-profit organisations, to help them with their charitable mission.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work on the Product Donation Programme alongside other teams including Product Managers and Sales, to assist with evaluating requirements and helping to deliver the right donated products to charities. As you will be working with external stakeholders such as charities and other third-party organisations, excellent communication skills are essential as you’ll be speaking with a variety of people including Senior Leaders.

Day to day, you could be:

  • Speaking to a charity to understand if there is an opportunity for Experian to support them and sharing the information back to internal teams.
  • Communicating with a variety of stakeholders to establish viable leads for the Product Donation Programme and checking for any conflict of interest.
  • Collaborating with internal teams such as Sales to generate contracts.
  • Speaking to charities that have received a donation and documenting their feedback.
  • Liaising with managers across Experian throughout the donation process from scoping to potential renewal.
  • Scheduling activities and tasks, ensuring all administrative activities are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Working with the Social Impact team and hosting a school, giving a tour of the office or even sharing your educational journey to a group of school students.

Over the course of this placement, you’ll build your understanding of how Experian products can be of value to the charitable sector - therefore you’ll also need an interest in how products and technology can provide solutions to everyday problems.

If you choose to join us, you’ll receive industry training, wide-reaching career opportunities and a wealth of support through our Early Careers network, buddy, line manager & mentor scheme.

Our concept is simple. We believe in expanding horizons – it’s what makes Experian a global leader and a Top UK Tech Employer.
