Summer Intern Manufacturing Engineer June 2024

Job description

BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Summer Intern Programme you will be required to attend your site 3-4 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.

During your 12 week placement with us you’ll will work with the team transforming designs into products and help our manufacturing and construction teams deliver cutting edge technology in the most effective way. You’ll be able to get involved at all levels of the business, from solving manufacturing problems on the shop floor, through to working on facility strategies or managing your own improvement projects.

This will include:

  • Produce appropriate department documentation.
  • Responsible for liaising with planning and other technical departments.
  • Responsible for developing innovative process solutions.
  • Develop and mentor new employees and team members.
  • Responsible for identifying own development opportunities.
  • Understand, develop and implement greater customer and external relations

We also provide the opportunity to get involved in projects outside of your primary remit. We encourage you to seek a stretch project in which you’ll gain different experiences. What we are looking for

To be considered for this role you must be returning to University to complete your degree

Qualifications

As a minimum requirement you`ll need to be on course for achieving a 2:2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering.
