Job description

BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Summer Intern Programme you will be required to attend your site 3-4 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.

What you will be doing

Working with us for 12 months in Procurement will enable you to take up a variety of roles to help ensure that to that we deliver the right products, at the right time and at the right cost to the required quality. Your role will be varied; ranging from undertaking supplier visits to a more analytical focus of developing procurement strategies.

The Supply Chain team is an important support function in one of the world’s most exciting defence companies. Follow your passion with the following responsibilities:

  • You’ll ensure that activity delivers value for money through planned and skilful management, typically coordinating supplier selection.
  • Subsequent and appropriate management of the supply base (SRM); contract negotiations, placement and management of all third party requirements in relevant categories / projects.
  • You’ll develop relationships with stakeholders and maintain stakeholder maps, you’ll also be responsible for producing key reports and presentations to those same stakeholders

What we are looking for

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Procurement, Materials Management, Business Management. To be considered for this role you must be returning to University to complete your degree.
