Job description

A graduate programme at JLR gives you access to some of the most innovative and visionary industry experts, networking opportunities and invaluable industry insight. By the time you finish the programme, you’ll play a vital part in JLR’s future and build the exceptional long-term career you’ve proved you're capable of.

Arrive with ambition. Grow with freedom.

Industrial Operations: Manufacturing

Manufacturing is at the heart of our Industrial Operations function, which incorporates our manufacturing, procurement and supply chain teams, and consolidates accountability for the production of our vehicles.

Manufacturing is central to JLR, with thousands of vehicles being created every day across our production facilities. Here you will have the opportunity to influence the future of manufacturing. This award-winning scheme is aimed at graduates who have a passion for learning and a pioneering mindset: ambitious, innovative and determined individuals who respect our heritage and can think beyond the challenges of today to build the cars of tomorrow. Whilst gaining wide-ranging hands-on experience and pursuing your ongoing studies, you will work on projects that are fundamental to our global success.

Industrial Operations: Programme Delivery

Excellence in Manufacturing Delivery – Manufacturing Programme Management drives the business by uniting cross-functional teams through our end-to-end process, to ensure the most sustainable manufacturing solution is in place for all vehicle and unit programmes. At every stage of the process, we satisfy our customers by creating products that are ready to meet cost, quality and time targets.

During this programme, you will learn how manufacturing delivers new programmes and vehicles from initial concept to finished mass production. You’ll be interfacing with key stakeholders from inside and outside the wider manufacturing group, including manufacturing engineering, programme management, product engineering and quality. Benefiting from both in-role learning and structured training, you will quickly develop into a well-rounded manufacturing programmes engineer.

What’s more, you will also assist with the tracking and robust resolution of manufacturing and programme issues to achieve product feasibility and manufacturing launch readiness and provide robust input into launch quality deliverables, the high hurts process and Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA). Finally, you will learn to collect, co-ordinate and analyse technical and investment inputs for programme gateway submission, while focusing on capital investment and cost per unit.
