Rosyth is home to our Liquid Gas Equipment (LGE) business and our commercial gas handling operations. Babcock’s LGE business is a world leader in the delivery of customer focused solutions for the transportation and storage of liquefied gas in the marine environment. Our end-customers include major worldwide shipyards and ship owners.

On this graduate programme, you’ll be responsible for innovative design work in support of winning and delivering large scale process-engineering themed projects.

You’ll collaborate closely with stakeholders across the business and in industry, giving you the opportunity to develop both technically and commercially. You’ll immediately be owning and delivering elements of live project work, with the close support and supervision of an experienced and skilled team. It is a fast paced, exciting, and rewarding programme.

Process Engineering at Babcock

Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplined team, you’ll define process plant layouts and philosophies through the development of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Safety, quality and innovation will be central to everything you do. You’ll and you will influence safe product design through the application of robust processes and design techniques.

You’ll own your own projects and deliver them with the support of an industry leading team of colleagues. Marine gas handling plants are safety critical systems. You’ll have the opportunity to influence design input on an array of project deliverables through tasks such as; engineering calculations, software simulations, report and operating manual creation; HAZID and HAZOP safety workshop participation; process equipment sizing and specification; customer collaboration.

You can also help shape digitally focused solutions that drive process plant efficiencies and uptime.

A MEng degree in chemical engineering (or similar)
