About the programme
This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of major shipbuilding projects, working across the entire source-to-pay lifecycle – from the identification of suppliers to the payment of products and services.
Through rotational placements, you'll gain invaluable exposure to every part of the Procurement & Supply Chain process, enhancing your skills and knowledge every step of the way.
Over your 2-year programme, you'll tackle a variety of tasks related to material and services/subcontract procurement, including:
- Upkeep and integrity of the business Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Raising and processing purchase orders
- Managing supplier relationships
- Expediting and tracking material deliveries
- Monitoring budgets and analysing costs
- Following procurement policies and procedures.
With mentoring from experienced professionals, you'll become integral to ensuring our defence projects have the parts, equipment and services needed to succeed.
After finishing your apprenticeship, you can explore a range of exciting roles in procurement and supply chain. You'll play a vital role in driving future improvements, including sustainability, on-site enhancements, and building stronger supplier relationships.
What you’ll need
- 5 SQA National Qualifications, including Maths, English and ICT at National Level 5, and two others at National Level 4 or 5.

Training
You'll study towards a Vocational Qualification in Supply Chain Management at SCQF Level 7, plus core skills at SCQF Level 5 and a technical certificate. This complements your on-the-job training.
